In the domain environment where users do not have Local Admin right and you need to perform local admin task without switching user account, technicians can use elevated CMD prompt to run Win7 or Vista programs such as adding/removing local administrator with lusrmgr.msc or uninstall program with appwiz.cpl. You can also use the cmd to open explorer.exe to modify network folders with your Domain account (only if you run the cmd with domain account)
- click Start
- In the search field type in cmd
- Press shift and right click on cmd icon and click Run as different user
- Login with Local/Domain administration right
- Admin-elevated CMD will open and you will be able to run Windows programs
